Christine “Kix” Mwaturura

Kix is a producer, writer and radio DJ based in Melbourne (Naarm), Australia. She brings contemporary African music to Melbourne's airwaves every Friday night on the Afro Turn Up aired on PBS 106.7 FM.

Kix has guest produced and co-hosted for the Peabody award-winning radio documentary series, Afropop Worldwide. From 2015 - 2017, she also co-hosted and co-produced the SOS in Oz podcast with her sister. Previously, she wrote for Madame Noire, a leading American online magazine for Black women.

In recognition of her audio storytelling talent, Kix was named the 2022 Jesse Cox Audio Fellow.

Ratidzo Mambo - “Veronica/Vee”

Ratidzo is an actor and creative producer recently named as a 2020 Rising Star by the Casting Guild of Australia or her acting work. She was the winner of the 2016 Best Actor Award for the Hollywood Short + Sweet Festival, awarded the 2018 16th Street Actors Studios Larry Moss Scholarship, a 2017 Heath Ledger Scholarship finalist and selected to participate in Screen Australia and Equity Foundation’s first diversity workshop in 2018.

Ronn Kurtz - “Luke”

Ronn trained in Hollywood at Stella Adler Studio, and participated in a study program at NIDA with Disney. He attained a Performing Arts Scholarship at Kingswood College where he studied drama and took lead roles in ‘The Blues Brothers’ and ‘Grease’ performances. Ronn’s other castings include ‘The Terminator’ in the ‘T2 Show’ at Universal Studios in Japan, and ‘Winston’ in ‘Rostered On’.

Tsungirai Wachenuka - “Mati”

Tsungirai is a Zimbabwean Melbourne based performer. Since her theatre debut in StageArt’s The Colour Purple, she has worked in various corners of the industry from touring with Paw Patrol Live to making an MTC debut with Dan Giovannoni’s Slap.Bang.Kiss in 2022.

Garikai Jani - “Tonde” & “PJ”

Garikai is a Zimbabwe-born creative based in Melbourne. His creative work experience ranges across film and television, theatre, voice work for children's books, narration for documentaries, music, commercials, and creative content writing. After a 2 year hiatus Garikai is back to creating art with the Private Affairs team.

Jarryd Doyle - “Ollie”

Jarryd is a dynamic actor who, in 2018, won the Prodigy Film Festival's 'Best International Actor' award for his performance in Hannah: And Other Misadventures, which led to his first break in Kriv Stender's Danger Close. Jarryd has featured in a wide range of productions, including leading roles in the shorts: I'm Not Gay, You Don't Look Well, and The Blow Up. Most recently, he appeared in Underbelly: Vanishing Act.

Holly Phillips

“Airline Agent” & “Reporter”

Holly is a Melbourne based actress, model and presenter. She has twelve years experience in the entertainment industry here in Australia and in the UK and Canada. Holly loves to perform and has a real passion for bringing her characters to life.

Jerry Agbinya/IJALE

Composer, Sound Designer & Mixer

Melbourne producer, vocalist & performer,​ IJALE​ blends a myriad of Afrocentric sounds & western influences that reflect his Nigerian heritage, Australian upbringing & the multifaceted taste of an open-minded listener of the internet age. These concoctions vary in sound, but are usually punctuated by hints of African percussion, infectious basslines and layered electronic textures, all of which pay direct homage to the hallmark genres of black creativity including: Jazz, Soul, RnB, and Hip-Hop.
